SMLE MK III rifle, designed by Lee-Enfield, U.K. 1907 (WW I & II)

4.8758

Imitation of a rifle, made of metal and wood, featuring a simulated loading and firing mechanism, a functional bolt, and a removable magazine.

The Short Magazine Lee-Enfield Mk III (SMLE Mk III) was adopted by the British Army in 1907 and became the standard rifle during World War I and World War II. Its ten-round magazine and fast bolt action made it one of the most effective weapons of the conflict. This model was often used alongside bayonets and hand grenades, forming the primary combat equipment of British soldiers on the battlefield.

The mass production of the SMLE Mk III required the involvement of numerous factories across the United Kingdom, reflecting its strategic importance for decades. Its reliability, accuracy, and ease of maintenance made it highly valued in military armories, and its legacy lives on among collectors.

This rifle has made notable appearances in cinema, in films such as Gallipoli (1981), War Horse (2011), and A Bridge Too Far (1977), all set in the context of the world wars. It also appears in series like Peaky Blinders, where its presence evokes the lasting shadow of conflict in the post-war period.

In the world of video games, the SMLE Mk III is featured as a prominent weapon in titles like Battlefield 1, Call of Duty: World at War, and Enlisted, alongside other iconic weapons like the Sten II, PPSH 41, or Walther P38, which are also part of World War II’s arsenal.

A robust and authentic historical piece: essential for completing your collection of weapon imitations with a true legend of the 20th century.
