On September 3, 1783 the Treaty of Paris or Treaty of Versailles was signed between Great Britain and the United States and ended the War of Independence of the United States, which had begun in April 1775, provoked by the repressive measures of the government. English (produced after uprisings such as the Boston Tea Party and the sanctions of the Intolerable Acts). The treaty was signed by David Hartley, a member of the British Parliament who represented King George III, and John Adams, Benjamin Franklin and John Jay, representatives of the United States.
