6 barrels Pepper-box revolver, England 1840

53

Reproduction of 6 barrels pepper-box revolver made of metal and wooden grips with firing mechanism and rotating gun.

The pepper-box revolver or simply pepperbox (also "pepper-pot", from its resemblance to the household pepper grinder) is a multiple-barrel repeating firearm that has three or more barrels grouped around a central axis.

It mostly appears in the form of a multi-shot handheld firearm. Pepperboxes exist in all ammunition systems: matchlock, wheellock, flintlock, percussion, pinfire, rimfire and centerfire.

The pepperbox was invented in the 1830s and was mainly aimed at the civilian market. Its employment spread rapidly and was popular in the United States from the 1830s until the Civil War.

A unique and exclusive piece that any collector will love to have.

I have had mine for sometime and have been very pleased with it, just for something to do I polished it with metal polish and it has come up really shiny and now looks nickleplated.

This is an excellent replica however I would find a tutorial on how to put it back together very helpful as there are none on YouTube or the web that I'm aware of. I first disassembled this thinking it would be a breeze to outback together however a spring fell out prematurely and I'm no longer sure of how to put it together.

Excellent replica, well made and realistic. Heavier than I expected so it feels right in the hand, I may have to buy the brass one too.
I'm so pleased this pepperbox I would give it six stars if I could.
